Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a profession using hands on techniques which aim to restore movement, improve functionality and reduce pain. This is done by using mobilisations, gentle manipulations and soft tissue releases which affect the nueromusculoskeletal system. It is a manual therapy that does not involve the use of medicines or surgery. Despite often being thought of as a profession for bad backs, chiropractic can help improve conditions throughout the whole body.

The McTimoney chiropractic technique is a precise, whole body approach and is regarded and being more gentle than other techniques. Although there is sometimes an audible 'crack' or 'pop' sound as you receive an adjustment, these are less common than with diversified chiropractic techniques. Chiropractic works to release any restrictions in the joints and soft tissue, so that the nervous system can function at it's optimum.

What to expect at your appointment
At your first appointment, your chiropractor will take a detailed medical history with you, and a summary of the medical history of your direct blood relatives. Following this your chiropractor will carry out an assessment of your neuromuscular system relevant to your presenting complaint and medical history, to locate any restrictions and imbalances which may be causing dysfunction. As each person is different, each appointment is tailored to the needs of the patient.

Following your assessment your chiropractor will give you your first adjustment* and discuss a treatment plan with you. This will be individual to the patient and their needs.
